Cody started his career at a marketing communications agency, where he led the agency’s Athens office and contributed to campaigns for national, regional, and local clients across multiple industries, including technology, higher education, collegiate and professional sports, transportation, and healthcare.
After seven-plus years at the agency, Cody entered the fee-only financial planning industry, where he served as communications director and chief of staff for a midsize firm. He was drawn to the financial planning industry by opportunity to help improve financial literacy and economic prosperity for more people and families in the Athens community.
As communications director and chief of staff, Cody led the firm’s day-to-day business operations, communications, and business development — steering the integration of the firm’s strategic vision and cross-functional initiatives.
In 2023, he co-founded Fully Financial and is now using his expertise in communications and practice management to bring fiduciary, fee-only financial planning to more families in the Athens region.
Cody is a First Honor Graduate from the University of Georgia and graduated top of his class from the University's Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication.
Outside of the office, Cody serves on nonprofit boards for Georgia Key Club, Athens Area Habitat for Humanity, and Athens Pride and Queer Collective (APQC). In 2022, he was selected for LEAD Athens, an intense year-long program of the Athens Area Chamber of Commerce designed to develop effective community leaders; and in 2023, Cody was named one of Athens Top 10 Under 40 for his efforts in helping shape a better Athens and bright vision for the community.
Cody enjoys spending time with his family, playing tennis, watching football (Go Dawgs!), and exploring the Classic City.
